Saturday, Dec. 15
Mitsubishi Motors Las
Vegas Bowl
Fresno State vs. Arizona State
3:30 p.m. ET, ABC
Sam Boyd Stadium
Las Vegas
This bowl features the
winner of the Mountain West vs. Pac 12 South. Both of these teams have made
their mark and Fresno finished off Boise State in a thriller overtime finish to
claim the title and end the season with an 11-2 record. They’re a good football
team and one that puts up 34 ppg and allows just 13.7. The Sun Devils have a
tough schedule and first year head coach herm Edwards did a fantastic job of
putting this team in this position. The Devils allow 25 points per game and put
up 30. Fresno wins this game, not by miles but they win it and cover -4.5
Friday, Dec. 21
Famous Idaho Potato Bowl
Western Michigan vs. BYU
4 p.m. ET, ESPN
Lyle Smith Field at Albertsons Stadium
Boise, Idaho
This game should be a
barnburner, although weather could be a factor on the cold Smurf Turf in Boise.
There could be snow and it’s pretty much a guarantee of freezing temps. BYU
comes in with a 6-6 record against a 7-5 record for the Western Michigan
Broncos. BYU is scoring 25.4 points per game and allowing 21.7 while the
Broncos are scoring 33.2 per game and allowing 33.3. For the Broncos, this game
is all about pounding it on the ground, and Bellamy is a gunner with 1172 yards
and 6 TD’s on the season. For BYU this will be all about their QB Wassink, who
has 1994 yards, 16 TD’s and 6 INT’s. The early line in this one is BYU -12.
That’s too many points. BYU probably finds the victory but not by 12.
Team Totals - Great Betting Option for Easy Money
Neither team comes in
lighting it up. BYU lost to Utah 35-27, and Northern Iowa 7-6, but beat
Wisconsin 24-21. They have had some big wins and some miserable losses. Western
Michigan lost their first two games of the season but that was against Syracuse
and Michigan, both very much expected losses. Both teams have had their ups and
down, this will be a fun contest.
